Conflict

The main conflict in the Book tweaked would be Chase and his serious addiction to methamphetamine as it caused him to hurt people including his family and himself in many ways,physically and mentally. When he got released from prison after his parents paid the 50,000 dollar bail , and lawyer fees it caused his parents great financial grief and stress. It caused his mother to quit her job so that she could watch over Chase. Chase made the conflict even worse when Gordie gave him 2000$ to pay off his dealer and Chase only payed the dealers 500$ and ran off. He also broke into Gordie's parents house and stole Gordie's guitar. Gordie then saw his guitar at a pawn shop so he had to work more hours so he could buy his guitar back. Chase and his mom also stayed in touch by telephone when Chase was living on the street. They then would meet up and she would give him money and food and such. This could have gotten her in deep trouble. This took a tole on the marriage and mom and dad stopped talking to each other. John Cross died in the hospital changing the charge to murder and the cops wonted him for it. When the police found out about mom being in contact with Chase they forced her to set him up. She said that they would meet at the mall and when Chase saw the cop he started running and he got tackeld to the ground and went into a comma from the blow to the ground and all the drugs in his system. Chase died shortly after this in the hospital.
